How to spot scams and fake support

Centric admins never message you first and never ask for your seed phrase. How to recognise fake support, fake sites and fake tokens, and what to do if you've been targeted.

Scammers watch crypto communities closely. If you ask a question in a public chat, expect someone pretending to be "support" to message you within minutes. These rules will keep you safe.

What Centric will never do

  • Admins never message you first. No Centric admin or team member will start a private message with you on Telegram or anywhere else.
  • No support by private message or phone. Centric doesn't give support through Telegram DMs, private chats or phone calls.
  • No one will ask for your seed phrase, private key or password. Not in a message, not in a form, not on a website.
  • No one will ask you to pay a fee, a tax or a deposit to unlock, recover, migrate or "validate" your tokens.

If someone does any of these things, they aren't from Centric, whatever their name or profile picture says.

How to tell a real admin in Centric Chat

In the Centric Chat group, real admins carry the admin title next to their name in the group.

Anyone can copy an admin's name and photo, and anyone can call themselves "Centric Support". So check the title in the group itself, not the name on a private message. And remember: a real admin won't message you first anyway.

Common scams

  • Fake support DMs. You post a question, and "support" messages you offering help. It always ends with a request for your seed phrase, for a wallet connection to a fake site, or for a payment.
  • Fake websites. Sites that copy Centric's look and ask you to connect your wallet and approve a transaction, or to type in your seed phrase to "sync", "validate" or "migrate" your wallet. Centric's sites are all on centric.com. See Official contract addresses and links.
  • Migration and recovery offers. The BSC to Solana migration closed on 31 May 2026. Nobody can migrate, recover or unlock old tokens for you. See The BSC to Solana migration.
  • Fake tokens. Tokens named "CNS" or "CNR" with a different address. Always check the address before you buy or add a token.
  • Telegram ads. Telegram shows paid ads ("sponsored messages") in large channels, including Centric's @CentricOfficial. Centric doesn't choose these ads, and scammers have used them. Don't click a link in an ad that claims to be from Centric.
  • "Giveaways" and "airdrops" that ask you to send tokens first, or to connect your wallet to claim. Check any announcement against Centric's official channels.

If you've been targeted

  • Don't reply, don't click, don't connect. Block and report the account in Telegram.
  • Warn others. Tell the admins in the public group, so they can remove the scammer from the group.
  • If you've shared your seed phrase or private key, assume the wallet is compromised. On a device you trust, create a new wallet and move whatever is left to it straight away. Never use the old wallet again.
  • If you approved a transaction on a fake site, move your tokens to a new wallet as above.
  • If you sent tokens to a scammer, they can't be recovered. Blockchain transactions can't be reversed, by Centric or by anyone else.
