How Centric works

CNR isn't traded on exchanges. You get it, and turn it back into CNS, through the Centric program on Solana. It works a bit like a central bank's window.

Every hour, the program balances the supply

CNR that comes back to the program isn't destroyed straight away. It goes into the program's reserve, called quarantine. The reserve only needs enough CNR to cover every CNS in circulation, at that hour's CNR rate.

The CNR rate goes up every hour, so the same CNS needs fewer CNR to cover it. Each hour the program works out the difference and burns the surplus CNR for good. No one picks the amount: the program's code works it out.

The accounting rate. To do its sums, the program counts 1 CNS as $1. That's a bookkeeping rate, not a price. What CNS sells for is set by the market, and can be very different.

    On Centric Swap, at the current rate. The program burns your CNS and hands you CNR.

  2. Step 2

    Hold CNR

    CNR's rate back to CNS goes up every hour. The Centric Foundation sets the rate on chain, month by month, ahead of time.

  3. Step 3

    Convert back any time

    The program mints new CNS for you at that hour's rate. Counted in CNS, you get back more than you put in. In dollars, it depends on the CNS market price.

The rules, on chain

  • No one can change the program’s code. The Centric program has no upgrade authority. Check on Solscan
  • Only the program can create CNS. The CNS mint authority is the program’s own account, not a person’s wallet. Check on Solscan
  • No more CNR can ever be created. CNR’s mint authority is switched off. Check on Solscan
  • No one can freeze your tokens. Neither token has a freeze authority.
  • The burn never touches your wallet. The hourly burn only removes CNR held in the program’s quarantine.
