Centric Foundation is phasing out support for TRC20 (TRON blockchain) Centric Swap (CNS) and Centric Rise (CNR).
Are you wondering about any of the following?
What does this mean?
Why did they make this decision?
Will it affect me?
What do I need to do?
All good questions. And we’ve got your answers below.
Background
If this announcement has you all like Wait, what?, here’s the backstory.
Centric moved to the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) in July 2021. Prior to July 15, 2021, the Centric protocol was deployed on the TRON blockchain, and accordingly followed the TRC20 token standard. BSC tokens, however, operate under a different token standard. Namely, BEP20.
For users who held their tokens in the native Centric wallet (wallet.centric.com) at the time of the migration, their tokens were automatically swapped for BEP20 CNS and CNR.
For those holding CNS and CNR outside the native Centric wallet at the time of migration, Centric Foundation provided a tool called Centric Convert, allowing users to connect their wallet, and execute a 1:1 swap of TRC20 CNR for BEP20 CNR.
Why is Centric Foundation sunsetting TRC20 support?
Once Centric Foundation retires TRC20 support after September 1, the Centric protocol will have been fully deployed on BSC for more than a year. The TRC20 CNS and CNR tokens are now obsolete.
By announcing a date for sunsetting (phasing out) support—and providing several months advanced notice—we hope to encourage all users still holding TRON-based Centric to use the tools we have developed to convert their holdings to BEP20.

What disappears after September 1?
The support resources we are retiring include both Customer Support (questions, troubleshooting) and developer support (software updates) for:
- Converting between TRON-based CNS and CNR - The decentralized TRON Centric Swap tool for accomplishing the above: tron.centricswap.com - Converting from TRC-20 CNR to BEP20 CNR - The decentralized Centric Convert tool for accomplishing the above: convert.centric.com
While we plan to keep both web tools listed above online into the foreseeable future, after September 1, we will not be able to assist users with using the tools. Additionally, as technology advances over time, we will not be allocating developer resources to keep the tools operational and browser compatible.
What should I do to prepare?
If you joined the Centric network after July 15, 2021 and purchased your Centric from one of our official exchanges, you should have BEP20 Centric already. No action required.
If you have always and only used Centric’s native wallet, then your tokens are already BEP20. (Tokens held in the Centric wallet when we jumped chains were converted to BEP20). Again, no action required.
If you have any additional wallets that have held CNS or CNR prior to July 15, 2021 (such as a mobile or web software wallet like TronLink, or a hardware / cold storage wallet), you’ll want to double check the tokens.
How can I convert my old TRON Centric tokens to BSC Centric tokens?
Glad you asked! Follow these helpful step-by-step instructions.
Note: the Centric Convert tool only allows conversion of CNR from TRON to BSC. There is no option to convert TRON-based CNS to BSC-based CNS. If you have TRON CNS, you’ll want to first convert that CNS to CNR. You can do that here.
Hey, I’m a sovereign individual! You can’t make me convert my tokens!
We agree. You are welcome to do whatever you wish with your tokens! #freedom
But please choose responsibly. Do yourself a favor and read the next question. 👇
What are the risks of leaving my Centric on TRON?
Should you choose to leave your Centric tokens on the TRON blockchain, please understand you will face the following risks:
- Low / no liquidity - Lack of utility - Inability to get support for these tokens after September 1, 2022 Here’s another risk to consider: - If either tron.centricswap.com or convert.centric.com were to become inoperable due to a hack, attack, software obsolescence, etc., Centric Foundation will NOT be “fixing” it. So why wait?

Can I still convert my BEP20 Centric tokens if I use an external wallet?
Yes, if you have BSC-compatible CNS and/or CNR tokens in a hardware wallet (e.g., Ledger) or a software wallet (e.g., MetaMask), you can still use CentricSwap.com to convert BSC Centric from CNS to CNR and CNR to CNS. Centric Foundation will continue to support the tools we’ve developed for BSC / BEP20 Centric. The support we’re sunsetting applies only to TRON-based tokens and tools.
What about CNR earned from playing Moolah?
If you earned CNR from wagering on Moolah (a Centric partner) and still have your CNR staked there, not to worry. Whenever you eventually unstake, you’ll be prompted to nominate a BSC-compatible wallet, and have the tokens sent there.
But I still have questions!
And we still have answers. But only through September 1, 2022.
